Share a cocoa with a friend or two

Nothing more soothing and warming than a nice hot cup of cocoa.  And what better time to have one than when surrounded by friends!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Imagine That - Progressive Challenge
http://imaginethatdigistamp.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/challenge-16-jenn-friends.html
CHNC - Patterned Paper - February
http://craftyhazelnutspatternedpaper.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/craftyhazelnuts-patterned-paper.html

I have used a paper from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.  Those of you who have followed my blog for a while will now that I use the teal version of this paper ALOT!  It is nice to have an additional colour to work with this year.  Both of these papers come from the Wonderful Wednesdays kit - the teal from January 2013 and the pink from January 2014.  The image and sentiment are both from the progressive challenge at Imagine That.  If you are not already in the challenge you can buy in to it and then receive the next image for free provided you enter the challenge.  The link can be found above.  There have been some absolutely beautiful images to work with since I joined in the challenge.  I have embellished my card with some small pearls from Sullivans as well as a pink gem from Rosie's Studio.

You don't come around here no more

The song is actually called "Don't come around here no more" but I'm sure that he actually sings "You don't come around here no more!"  The song is by Tom Petty and features a giant cup throughout the video.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Seems A Little Sketchy - Sketch
http://seemsalittlesketchy.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/sketch-57-robyns-fetish.html

I have used a piece of striped scrapbook paper from my stash for the main background. The spotted piece is left over from another card.  I'm not sure if you can see it from the photograph or not but I swiped across it with some metallic rub-ons.  The sentiment is one line from the song typed on the computer.   The image is from Pingvinmammans Designs.  The layout is based on the sketch from Seems A Little Sketchy - I replaced the ornamentation at the bottom of the sketch with the sentiment.

Eek......

...not the image.  The time frame!  Almost missed posting this completed card as time had crept away on me.  I was just waiting for the washing machine to finish it's cycle and thought I'd check what crafting I needed to get done (like progressive challenges!!).  Noticed that this one was due in about half an hour and hadn't been posted yet!

I am entering the card into the following challenges:

I decided to go with a black card blank for this card as a contrast to the yellow.  The paper is from Create with TLC and the sentiment is from Bird's Cards.  I part die-cut and part fussy cut the main image but used a Spellbinder tag die on the sentiment.  I have also added some yellow grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts and a string of yellow gemstones.  The bee's eyes are highlighted with Glossy Accents.

I have used three papers from a paper pack by Bearly Mine Designs.  The matting is pink pearlised paper and blue pearlised paper.  The image is from From The Heart Stamps and coloured with copic markers.  The blue chipboard and blue rhinestone are both from my stash.

I wasn't clear from the rules whether digital papers counted or not.  Both this card and one other one I submitted tonight are created using digital papers.  If they are not valid, I understand if they are deleted but would appreciate a comment to that effect.

This is the sketch I followed:

Poppies and Ribbon

Although red is not one of my favourite colours - I really love the effect of deep red in cardmaking.

Baby it's cold outside....

.. so it is a good time to catch up on some reading!

I am entering my wintery reading card into the following challenges:
Kaboodle Doodles - Baby it's cold outside (challenge wasn't specific so I hope my interpretation is okay!)
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/challenge-208-baby-its-cold-outside.html
Clear It Out Challenge - CASE a DT Card
http://clearitoutchallenge.blogspot.ca/2014/01/its-challenge-time_21.html

Here is the DT I chose to CASE:
http://meine-bastelarena.blogspot.de/2014/01/time-for-new-challenge-at-clear-it-out_21.html

This time I chose one from Sujin.  You can find the original by clicking on the photo above (hopefully!)

I have used two different wintry papers from a Christmas paper pad.  The image is from Floppy Latte and I tried to pick up the colours from the snowflake themed papers - at least I think the yellow one is snowflakes as well as the other one.  I added some Stickles - Crystal around the edge of the circle die-cut and also some pearls to the top right hand corner.  The twine that I have used comes from docrafts.

That is what this card is all about!  So far, I have got through two letters of the alphabet - I'm hoping to get through the whole alphabet this year!

Winter Fun

One of the challenges I am entering for this challenge was a CASE challenge.  I wasn't entirely sure what that meant so decided to treat it like a sketch challenge.  Not sure if that was correct or not - besides I love sketches and any chance to use a sketch I grab it!

I have used a DCWV paper from a Girls Themed paper pad.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and is called Heel Daisy.  I have added some glitter to the shoe to co-ordinate with the background paper.  The sentiment is from Desert Diva.  I added a pearl from Sullivans to the shoe and a string of pearls and rhinestones (brand unknown) to the right side of the card.

Birthday Colour Challenge

Day Three at the Catch The Bug challenge is all about birthday cards with a specified colour scheme:

I am entering the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - Monday Colour Combination
http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/bugaboo-is-turning-fourcome-celebrate.html
The Outlawz Sunday Challenge - Bears
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/sundayscleanandsimplecas/forum/topics/cas-challenge-january-19-2014

I always struggle with CAS cards when they hit the borderline area - I think this one may just squeak in.

I have used a paper from MME for the background.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and coloured with copic markers.  The background is a black glitter tape from American Crafts and I also added some black pearls from Sullivans.

Birthday Sketch

Day Two of the week long challenges at Catch The Bug.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - Saturday Sketch Challenge
http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/bugaboo-is-turning-fourcome-celebrate.html
Sentimental Sundays - More than Three Layers
http://sentimentalsundays.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/challenge-190-more-than-3-layers.html

I have used a paper from MME.  The matting cardstock is from DCWV and is a textured cardstock.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and coloured with copic markers.  I have added some lace, gold glitter tape, a sentiment from Desert Diva and some peelcraft stickers.  Dies are Spellbinder.

Birthday BINGO

Catch The Bug challenge has another week of daily challenges.  This time the theme is birthdays to celebrate the blog's fourth birthday.  I have been so snowed under with a backlog of work to do since going on camp two weeks ago (How is it that two weeks after being away for one week I still feel so far behind!).  Anyway, for my sanity I wanted to at least enter some of the days (not sure that I'll get to the blog hop).  Here is my first offering with a day left on all the challenges:

I am entering the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - Saturday BINGO Challenge
http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/bugaboo-is-turning-fourcome-celebrate.html
Love To Create - Button It Up
http://lovetocreatechallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/challenge-99-button-it-up.html

I have used some paper from MME for the background along with my favourite yellow mesh ribbon.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and coloured with a combination of copic markers and Stickles - Yellow.  I have also added some buttons from my Mum's button box.  The sentiment is from Desert Diva.  Dies are Spellbinder.

My BINGO line is Cupcake, Free (fave colour), button

Celebration Birdie

This image is meant to be a New Year's image but I thought it would suit other occasions as well.  So I decided to create a birthday celebration card:

I am entering the following challenges:
Doodle Pantry - Monthly Challenge
http://doodlepantryblog.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/doodle-pantry-digital-challenge-42.html
Sentimental Sundays - More Than Three Layers
http://sentimentalsundays.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/challenge-190-more-than-3-layers.html
Kaboodle Doodles - Use Blue
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/challenge-207-use-blue.html

I have used some scrapbook paper offcut from my stash.  The image is from Doodle Pantry.  The sentiment is also a digital but not sure of the source.  I have matted with some blue textured cardstock from DCWV and added three pearls from Rosies Studio.

Bit By The Bug - Another Bug is Born

Sorry for the delay in this post appearing - a few technical issues!

You are going to want to go and visit Creative Bug on the Loose today because a new Bug has been born. Naomi is sharing with the world her newest release:

Shiver

Here is my card that I created using this wonderful digi:

About this time last year, I saved a freebie paper from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles Wonderful Wednesday January Kit.  Over the past year, I have used that paper a lot as I love it so much.  Imagine my pleasure when I found that this year's Wonderful Wednesday January Kit contained the same paper in a different colourway!  This is my first card using it but I imagine it won't be my last!
I have also used some pink glitter tape from American Crafts and some bling plus followed the sketch at The Outlawz Wednesday challenge (link below).  The die-cut is a Spellbinder Labels die which I edged with copic marker.  The image is coloured with copic markers.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
The Outlawz Wednesday Challenge - Sketch
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/sketchchallenge/forum/topics/wednesday-sketch-challenge-january-22
Robyn's Fetish - Winter Cards
http://robynsfetishchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/challenge-195-winter-cards-1192014.html

To learn more about this image and also find out how you could win a copy of this image, make sure you head on over to Creative Bug on the Loose and follow the directions that have been laid out. Entering to win is super simple. You don't want to miss out on this exciting opportunity

So, don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity. Head over to Creative Bug on the Loose.

I love yellow

Yellow is my favourite colour yet I don't seem to craft with it that much.  I find it is such a sunny feel good colour.  I really enjoyed working with an image that leant itself toward a yellow colour scheme!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
A Day For Daisies - Add some yellow
http://adayfordaisies.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/take-two-january-kit-club-challenge-87.html
Eureka Stamps - 3 Favourite Embellishments (Die Cut, rhinestone, mesh ribbon)
http://eurekastamps.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/eureka-stamps-weekly-challenge-73-your.html
CHNC - Patterned Paper
http://craftyhazelnutspatternedpaper.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/craftyhazelnuts-patterned-paper-january.html

I used some yellow paper from MME for the background then pulled out my favourite yellow mesh ribbon.  The image is from A Day For Daisies and is coloured with copic markers.  The centres of the flowers have been highlighted with Glossy Accents.  I added a flower cut from glitter cardstock (DCWV) using a Marianne's Die and embellished with a rhinestone.

Harbour Scene

I didn't think this one was going to get completed.  I have had the image coloured for a few days though.

I am entering:
Delicious Doodles - Easel Cards
http://deliciousdoodleschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/challenge-71-easel-cards.html
Kaboodle Doodles - Use Blue
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/challenge-207-use-blue.html

I have used some offcuts of paper from Provo Craft.  The image is from Delicious Doodles and coloured with copic markers.  I think the sentiment is from Desert Diva but need to check.  I have also used blue mesh ribbon and a string of pearls and rhinestones.

Stickered Snowflakes

Ages ago I bought these metallic stickers and haven't used them since (there was one used) so I decided that I would embellish this card with three of them scattered around!

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Décosse's Dynamite Doodles - 12 months of Christmas
http://decossesdynamitedoodles.blogspot.ca/p/the-12-days-of-christmas-card-link-up.html

I have used a left-over square of scrapbook paper from long ago!  The image is from Meljens Designs Studio and coloured in copic markers.  The stickers as I said above I have had for a while and not really used.  I also added some jewels I bought about 6 months ago (and again had hardly used!).  A bit of Stickles to add a touch of snow to the image and Voila....another Christmas card to the stock!

Heart of Flowers

I had this card ready to post a few hours back but had to go out to take some swimming lessons and have only just returned home.  Weather wasn't great for swimming today but the kids did great.

I am entering the following challenges with this card:

I have used a couple of papers from MME matted with some cardstock from Rosies Studio.  The image is from Digi Stamp Boutique and coloured with copic markers.  I have added some twine that is part of my New Year stash - amazing what you find when you visit a few different shops!  I found it was quite easy to tie a bow with this twine too so now wishing I had bought more of it!

Here is the sketch that I followed:
